I was wondering if the so-called nickel hardware would outlast the one of my regular LP. Well, I did beat my record, and by a long shot.
I brought the guitar home last Thursday, but didn't really get to play it until Friday night - not taking into account the fact that I spent quite a bit of time adjusting and testing and re-adjusting and fine-tuning. And kept on wiping the strings and the hardware all the time.
Anyway, as of tonight, after a 4 or 5 hour session of intense playing, I've already burned the finish on the bridge studs. It is
gone.
The cool thing is that the satin finish on the back of the neck seems to be improving all the time and I absolutely love the way it's turning. Smooth but w/ texture.
I'm starting to think that I could probably boost a car battery with my bare hands... Maybe Fender or Gibson should hire me to take care of the aging process on their guitars.
