Okay folks, Several months ago I alluded to a "life change" that I was thinking about. Well, after much consideration I pulled the trigger so to speak and decided to open my own business. After playing poker for 10 years, it had become a grind of epic proportions. Too much travel, too little time with the Mrs. Those factors began to outweigh the money. When I started, it was to have the freedom to play when I wanted, where I wanted. It eventually became just another job, albeit one filled with even stranger characters than the music business, but those stories are for another time. Going to work for someone wasn't an option. As my elementary teachers noticed many years ago, "Randy doesn't work well with others".
So, as of March 1st of this year, I began the process of becoming a registered used car dealer. I've since gotten my license, leased property, remodeled property, signed agreements with finance companies, produced radio commercials and today I lit this candle!!!
Last Friday, I went to a wholesale auction and bought 12 cars, and it was more fun than I could have imagined.
Now, before some of you start wondering why I'm doing this, I was in the auto industry before I left to play cards. I have alot of experience in the business and alot of great contacts that I've kept in touch with over the years.
So anyways, in the days to come, I'll be posting a link to my dealerships website to get some feedback from you guys. Hopefully, I'll have a little more time to hang out here again, and listen to some music. Heck, maybe I'll even fire up X2a and see what that looks like.
These are very exciting times!
Randy
