Wonder how this will sound with my old Maestro Brassmaster.

I had one of those.

Very cool. I see you do have it covered.
Years ago a bass player & I worked with in a prog band (a real YES head) used it with his Ric until he got his Alembic. He got more into Stanley Clarke so he gave me that Brassmaster.
If you ever consider selling it, II'd be interested.  I'm a Squire fan myself and that's the reason I had one.  I've got "meet and greet" tickets for the next Yes concert here this spring.

And if you're a Squire fan, you might like to hear this interview that I watched today, it's very entertaining. He's quite a funny guy, and a great story teller. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo-lBnTc3So

When I saw Yes in concert...must have been 71 or 72 a little band that had only a minor charting tune was the opening act...they were called IIRC The Eagles.  Now that's creative booking.

Previous N.I Scarbee bass libraries (MM,Jay,Pre) had 2 versions, amped and D.I.

The tutorial mentioned there is a redesigned interface for the new Rickenbacker Bass.. and it seems you can select both D.I and amped sounds.

Anyone has any information on this ?

Its like busses, you wait for hours and and then three come along together.

One thing that is interesting, I read somewhere that the Orangtree product will be fingered, if NI is played with a pick they may complement each other.

It looks like the amped version is a result of using Kontakt's effects, not samples of the amped bass, which I think was the case with the others. I only have the DI versions and mostly use Amplitube if I want an amped sound.

It says.

A unique KONTAKT effect chain adds the final component to this authorized Rickenbacker® instrument with the newly implemented Jump Amp from GUITAR RIG for extreme tweakability, and tape saturator, equalizer and compressor from the SOLID MIX SERIES for pro studio effects.

Sounds great. Now how can we get this at half price?

Usually we get told to go and buy a bass and learn to play it. I'm not falling for that again. I'm still paying for the full orchestra and grand piano I bought recently! I should have just bought the plug-ins. You live and learn.

Yeah.... I caught them at JFK stadium back in 72 IIFC... it was in July. Talk about a strange lineup....

The opening act was the Philadelphia Mummers.... in costume, feathers and all...

I think Gary Wright (dream weaver ) was next... 5 keyboard players and a drummer....

then some relatively unknown kid came on and played his new album in it's entirety....  Peter Frampton. (Comes Alive)  Up to this point I had only known him as a guitarist in Humble Pie....

Then the headline act....YES, came on stage as the sun was going down. By this time....(the show started at around 4 in the afternoon) it was near 9 pm.... the girl I took to the show..(long story there)  ..well she was wanting to go home.... she wanted to see Frampton.... I said no, we're staying to see YES. She was not very happy.....

Yes was amazing. They had just released Relayer IIRC, because, in addition to all their classic hits to that time, they played Relayer... in it's entirety, note for note.  It was a complete side of the album. 20+/- minutes in length.

The day had turned cool after the hot July sun... actually kind of cold, and several bonfires were lit on the football field in JFK stadium.... YES was using a green laser.... so it was really neat seeing it shoot through the smoke and the fog coming from the marshland near the stadium. They had one of their spaceship looking things hanging over the stage and the laser came from it.

Great show. Weird lineup.

I saw Yes only once at The Los Angeles Forum. 1970 I believe. Wakeman was wearing this really cool cape that seemed to be made of tiny mirrors.

I'm hazy on who opened for them. Don't really care to remember.
