I'm trying to clone my HD onto two new ones.  I finally got one to work, but am running into a wall trying to clone it to the second one.  Here's what I'm doing:

Select Clone Disk
Select source disk
Select Target hard disk  ...then it says 'The destination hard disk drive you have chosen contains some partitions that could contain useful data.  Click OK to confirm deletion of all the partitions on the destination hard disk drive.'

Clicked OK.  then it says, 'Failed to move the selected data.  Make sure your new HD is not smaller than your old one and your partitions do not contain errors.'

...The new HD is twice as big as the old one and I'm not sure how the partitions would contain errors.

What do I do now?

Yep format the destination drive or you may need to partition it first.

Thanks guys.  Yes, they're both new ones.  And they've been formatted.  The message also says 'You can check for the errors and correct them using a special utility.'  Anyone know where that is?

So you have your old drive A and you want to clone it to another drive B and a third C? Clarify that for me.

Yes, exactly.

It worked on the first one, but I must be doing something wrong for the second one cause it keeps unformatting it.  Or something.  (my son reformats it for me--I don't know how.)

Did you try disconnecting the one that is complete and just try source A copied to drive C? That might get you up and running then you can connect it back up after it is imaged.

Yeah, that might work.  I'll probably just see if my son can come and format it once again and try it again.  If it screws up again I'll call in the bomb squad.

I use Acronis and I don't think you have to reformat the drive before cloning (but I've never tried cloning).  I have restored a drive from a full hard drive backup and in that procedure it takes care of any needed formatting.

Edit/Added:  I notice you are in Mo.  If I were still in KC I could do it for you.
