Have you tried ubermod or hdelay  ?

Hey Bit...what will FabFilter Timeless 2 not do fer ya?

I have been on a quest for the perfect delay plugin for years. The perfect delay would have every feature that SuperTap has: pan, level and filter control for each echo, plus modulation. It would also be very easy to use, meaning I can quickly create whatever delay effect I hear in my head with minimal fuss. SuperTap is not easy to use, results are unpredictable and its UI is ridiculously small. It's also prone to clicks when automating or when tempo changes while tempo-synced. And those sliders that scoot back and forth on their own as the plugin syncs to tempo are disconcerting.

Ubermod, which I have, is great fun but it's hit-and-miss when attempting anything specific. I also have RP-Delay, same story: capable of interesting effects, but you never know exactly what you're going to get. Timeless2, which I've demoed, is amazingly programmable, but overly complex for most routine tasks. Still a front-runner, though.

HDelay is one that I've not tried. However, being a Waves product automatically pushes it to the bottom of the pile unless it goes on sale for $8.

Gee Bit...you're so strict...no fruticup...not even for yourself:-)

My criteria are a little looser.  If I go "wagada"...

And it goes "wagada wagada wagada"... I'm pretty much sold.

You bring a smile, ol' pal. But I know better.

I suppose you're also happy if your reverb goes "wagadaaaaaaahhh". And that's why you only have four plugins installed on your DAW.

I just got another email from Waves this morning.  It seems like, "Mercury," is down to $2500, and "diamond," is down to $1200.

I don't have the cash today, but in a year from now, I will remember this..   And I will be prepared to spend $900 -- $1100 on Waves' Diamond!!

Software is --->  Getting cheap!! omg, wow!!

You can get the full version of Mercury for 1754.00.
If you have any other waves plugins it's less, based on what you already have.

I upgraded to Mercury for $1100.00, cheaper in the long run than buying sale bundles or singles piece meal.

Bit, have you checked PSP's 608 Multidelay?

Wow Rain.
That is one confusing detailed looking delay effect.
I guess I'm either a minimalist or just a simpleton but I have absolutely no idea what or why something like that would ever be needed.
How often has anyone here ever said to themselves 'you know what this guitar part needs? I'm thinking like 8 different delays all at once would really pull this thing together'.
I guess it could be useful if you want 30+ delays on a track. It could be a time saver to just insert a few of these instead of 30 single delays not to mention this is probably a little less taxing on your system.

But seriously, all joking aside.
In what aspect would something like this be needed?

Mike

PS. I do like that they provide a panic button. I'm pretty sure I'd be using that one quite a bit. (Oh my god, make it stop, make it stop, make it stop)

The Edge says that, like, all the time... ;)

It's way over the top for me. Waves Supertap works fine w/ me, and so do Logic's Tape Delay and Pro Tools' own native delay. In Sonar, the Sonitus one was pretty much my go to, as well as a couple of freeware delays from E-Phonic for old-school stuff.
