Well Day 1 at Gear Fest was good.
Brandon's presentation was short and concise. He emphasized pro channel heavily.
He took a song from the webinar and added effects to it to show what PC had to offer.
He also showed Matrix view. Interesting.
A couple hours later I had a chance to catch up with him in the Roland booth.
We chatted for about 45 minutes. Very interesting perspectives.
But you don't care about that do you?
No, all you want to know is X2b or X3.
Well and the forum update thing...
When I ask him if he could speak to what 2013 holds for updates he just smiled, which I guess was better than
Telling me to f'off.
What he was able to say was there WILL be a release yet this year.
He said there are some cool things coming.
We also talked about the relationship between Roland and cakewalk.
All is good. Those with the conspiracy theories and nay Sayers of doom can just chill.....
He also took the time to give me a lesson on using matrix view. Very cool. I can see value in using that when
Toying around with song ideas.
That was far better than reading the manual....
In other news, the Izotope demo on mastering was very good. I have never seen it before.
I can now see why folks speak so highly of it.
There was a performance for Cordoba guitars.
This cat was amazing. He did a flamenco rendition of Bark At The Moon. OMG!!!
He has a flamenco Death Metal band. Lol.
Truly amazing what he could do on a classical guitar.
Gary Hoey did a demo for Avid's new guitar effects product.
He's kinda goofy little guy but funny.
He jammed on one of the songs off his new CD.
The Avid rep was kind of a tool.
I missed Billy Sheehan because of another committment. Darn.
I ended up with a new Shure SM57 for $57.
Passed on that last year and regretted it for about 360 days.
Tomorrow holds more good stuff.
Paul Reed Smith presentation I am looking forward to. Those are always good.
Temperatures were hot so the girls were dressed accordingly.
That helped offset the need to smack these inconsiderate morons with cell phones....
'Nuff said.
