Just picked up Ozone 5 and Alloy 2 and big thanks to this forum for putting me on to Audio Deluxe. Got a heck of a deal on their year end sale, $248.00 for the set.
Well I have to tell ya I'm not dissapointed. These plugins are great, sound good and are very intuative to use. Even alot of the presets give you some good starting points.
If you get a chance to check them ou,t you should.

Anyway, Happy New Year all

Hi Bob, and Happy New Year

Could you compared Ozone5 with the Sonar X2 mastering tools (LP64multiband comp and Eq) ? Is Ozone 5 really superior or can we achieve similar results with Sonar  ?

Thanks

I haven't done any extensive comparative testing but on a mix I am working on using Alloy 2 I was able to get the drum sounds I was wanting very quickly and easy. On the master bus using Ozone 5 again very easy and quick to get a loud and punchy mix. I'm sure with a lot work I could get the same results using the tools provided with Sonar but I just find Ozone and Alloy very intuitive and easy to use.

Thanks very much  Bob !
So the Izotope stuff should be more pleasant and faster to achieve convincing results; The Izotope algorithms seem to be very well build to get such fluidity  and transparency in the sound.

You can download the Plugins from the iZotope site and try them free for 10 days no limitation. I'm sure you'll like them.

Webby, make sure you watch the OZONE 5 tutorials on Groove3.com.  It blew me away how powerful Ozone 5 is.  I was very amazed and impressed. Not sure of the exact length of the tutorial, maybe 2 hours or so. A very indepth tutorial, and I got major results. I will have to watch the videos again, lots of information!
