I've done it before but it has been a while. I think I used Audacity but I'm not sure. My question is this: Is there a fast and good way to do it or do fast and good not go together? Free would be good too. Easy is also good, like "one click".
Thanks,
J

Yeah Audacity works. Danny turned me on to that a while back.
And free.

Good is also free. Exact Audio Copy will recover data from CD's that other rippers fail on. It is not so fast in the recovery mode, but very thorough.

IIRC Windows Media Player rips CDs as MP3 as default.

AudioGrabber (+ the Lame encoder) works perfectly for me. Again, freeware.

Hi,
For the stuff I play in the car, I just use the utility that comes with Windows Media Player ... and it does it ok, though the separation from songs leaves a lot to be desired, but this might be the MP3 player on my car.

Windows Media Player here.
It came on the computer and works fine.
Rips fast enough for me. Never failed to do the job. What more could you ask?

I landed on WMP too after trying a couple of other things. It is easy and it works.
Thanks,
J
