  • I am a little confused (nothing new) about where to put Rock LEgends Kit 2 for SD3

I decided to use the 20 dollar off coupon on this. It wanted to install in a BFD Eco folder. First, I went with it wanted to do but no way could I get SD3 to see it. I am trying again to install it in a similar folder as the Andy Johns kit. SD3 sees it aand loads it however, this kit is (x86). I copied everything from the path to the AJ kit except I added (x86). It told me there was no such folder, do I want to create one, yes. So I am installing it there too. If I can figure out how to point SD3 to it I think I will be OK but I am not sure... and I am not sure I am doing the right thing. I wonder, if I install it in the programs (not x86) will it still be 64 bit.

I may need some help. I really dont want these samples installed in several places on my HD. I haven't checked but I suppose they are now available to BFD Eco too, since it installed there first. I am not sure why something that Cake sold to me as a kit for SD3 is actually a BFD kit... it confuses me.

Thanks for any help...

BTW... it is also called Evil Drums Eco Kit 1 in the install. At the top of the install window it says Rock Legends Quickpack installer. I am wondering if I got what I bought...

Anyway, I will see if I can get SD3 to find it now.

I guess I will delete everything I downloaded and start over. BFD Eco cannot find it and neither can SD3....

Starting over.

If you bought the Platinum Samples SD3 kits they are different from the ones for BFD and can only be used with SD3. SD3 can play kits located anywhere but I would integrate the expansion kits into the SD3 tree.

Platinum Samples
The installer should find the Session Drummer Content path in your registry and show that...  usually it's

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Session Drummer 3

If the installer finds an x86 Program folder it will also give you the option of installing to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Session Drummer 3

or both...

I just checked the installer and it says the correct product in the installer....

What's the path to your content on your system?

Thanks scook... I am trying. I downloaded from Cake, I think that was a mistake. I deleted everything and am downloading the zip files again from the Platinum Samples website. Maybe this will work. I am going to try to put it in the same place as the AJ kit that it will find. Perhaps when I unzip and install this time it will offer me the correct path. I am uncertain about all this. I've not done a lot with drums and expansion packs so installing them in the right place is something I am not comfortable with but I'll figure it out... if I get stumped I will post again.

Thanks for responding!

Thanks Rail,

I think my mistake was downloading from my Cakewalk acct page. It only gave me a choice to install to BFD Eco something. The DL from PS is slow but I hope it will be what fixes this for me. If I get to the install page and it looks different I will post again. I don't know hw to do a screenshot but maybe my daughter does. Thanks for the help!

OK, I got this. Possibly because I changed the path before.
This is what I get:

That's a different product

Have you registered the serial number you got from the Cakewalk store at the Platinum Samples website?

Once you register the serial number you'll see the Rock Legends Kit 2 for Session Drummer 3 product listed... The download is much smaller than the BFD version which you're currently looking at in your screen shot.

I am going to delete browsing history, run CCleaner, and try again. I will download from my account at Cakewalk unless you think that is a mistake. I seem to get the zip files either way. I don't know why the Andy Johns kit went to the right place and I am having trouble with this. I am fairly certain that it is because of something I did wrong involving (x86) ... but I meant well...

I will clean, reboot, and be back to check to see if you think I am on the right track.

Thanks,
