I guess so. Nothing new about painting anything on a
fretboard- been doing that on steel guitars for decades...clear plastic
or whatever. Of course they have a different perspective than a bass
or guitar player and the reason I believe the side dot location to be
of more importance to function rather than aesthetics which I personally
believe is the only value of "fake" frets on a bass or guitar and IMO is
much like a violin, cello etc. having them painted on or more so, why they don't.
So, I still guess so...if that is what looks good to you.
I changed my mind and believe instead of my initial thought that side dots
should be in the conventional location I think that I'd prefer them to be at
exact fret location whether or not there may be indicators on the fretboard....and
really the only thing I got out of hearing about the glass/mirror fretless...but that's
something! lol
