I love it!!  Its his best one yet, and dare I say, "he actually tested in Renoise!"  On my 2013 list of software to buy.  The darkest, most dirty, and gloomy sounding verb!   Very unique.   Not for everything, but definitely will sound ethereal when mixed properly.

My finger was on the trigger, about to go iLok>Relab LX480 Lite, but now thinking not. If this Vintage verb serves the need, i'd gladly save the loot. Heck, VVV costs the price of the iLok2 (though i was going to get it "free" with the purchase of Slate's RC-Tube plug (which i didnt really have interest in, since just picked up Waves NLS.)) My reasoning to get the LX480 was too buy a superb reverb emulation of a legendary reverb and then be done with buying reverbs. Hopefully ValVintageVerb can fill the verb void?

Right so I downloaded and have now tried - I set out with the mind set that it couldn't be that different to the standard Valhalla and I would soon convince myself I didn't need this - I tried numerous settings on the standard to get the same effect as I was getting from Vintage, but no, could not quite nail it - and the worse thing was I REALLY liked the sound of the new Vintage - real depth especially when switching between the different colorations.
SO did I do the opposite to what I set out - I think I did as I have ALMOST convinced myself I need to buy this  - not quite but very nearly!!
Off for some more experimentations, one last chance to convince myself this is not an essential purchase, otherwise no Turkey for Christmas!!!

Well, a little bit of consumer  skepticism turning into a convinced buyer might sway a few of us to investigate further. I'll be watching this thread with interest.

Had a spare couple of hours this afternoon and have just spent most of it playing with Vintage Verb - I tried just about every comparable test I could on Standard Valhalla and Vintage on a piece of acoustic guitar I recently recorded that sounded just a little bit flat - in my view they do sound different and I could not exactly replicate one with the other.
Now does it sound better - very subjective that. I liked very much Vintage on this acoustic guitar part.

Standard sounds great and has basically become my go to verb - I use this and Aether which I luckily picked up for a sensible price in a group buy some years ago. At one time I only used Aether but Valhalla is so good (and quick and easy) it gets used a lot these days.
Vintage the conclusion.
I do like the complex nature on the more colored reverbs - sounds, I don't know, denser?
I can see me using this on some things and Standard on others, so it looks like no Turkey this Christmas, just bread and gruel!!!
Off to spend the Turkey money soon as I post this!
Happy Christmas to everyone

Dang! I still haven't gotten around to getting the Valhalla Room but intend to get that soon and then the Vintage version later on.

I got it and can definitely say it was worth it. You cannot get the same sounds out of Valhalla Room. I love Sean's stuff and for $50 it was sort of a no brainer. I am very happy with it.

Real reverb gets dark and noisy with lots of coloration and weird sideband stuff......maybe just the ticket:)

Just downloaded Vintage Reverb! Very very cool! Not really lo-fi at all, just different and flexible. I'll be using this a lot, I think (wasn't using Vallhalla Room that much...)

I grabbed the demo and really like it. It's not all lo-fi, and a simple click lets you select different time periods (bandwidth limitations) from the 70's to modern. I wish Cake had partnered with these guys instead of breverb.
