waves quality great.... from what I've heard from others.

the rest .. not so... they need to come on here and address stuff *IF* they want folks custom. 

One very small VST maker I will actively avoid who came on here and had a massive rant regardless how good their synths are.. U-he will get my business instead.
that's why I never bought into them regarding many issues, it reflects their interest.. I doubt they will have me ever as a customer, as I don't have much hair left to pull out :)

Nope...that's not how it works.  You can always reinstall your plugs and get new licenses if needed no matter what your scenario.  You just might have a day or three wait...maybe not even that.  Again...you can authorize to a USB stick or your computer and your licenses are kept in WAVES cloud account. If you have a catastrophic occurrence you WILL be able to restore your licenses. At least that is what they tout.  I've had one iLok go bad (before WAVES went proprietary) and I was without those plugins...WAVES included...for about four days.  And that was with iLok!!!!!  My advice would be don't over think or over worry about such things...or, conversely, don't buy the plugins. Simplze.

Don't know what part of the thread sent to those conclusions. I love the Waves plugs I bought as Pro Channel alternatives. I'm thinking after being very Cake oriented it's time to share the love. Glad I don't have to purchase a license every year.

What's with this hold music that kind of drifts in and out like a badly tuned radio station? Time Warner Cable used to have this. 


Anyway, with regard to long hold times, all I can say is....THANK GOD FOR SPEAKER PHONES!


Trouble is,  you're invariably in the next room taking a leak when you hear "Hello....hello.....hello...." from next door. 

I just bought the CLA Bundle (CLA Vocals, Guitars, etc).  It's on sale for $179.  I finally got it installed- after finding out I needed an Ilok because I'm running Vista.  But I've got to say it was the worst music software install experience I've EVER had.  They're totally paranoid about licensing.  I guess there are reasons for it but man...  The experience has been a turnoff for me- although the L2 is on sale for $79 and I'll probably get it.  The CLA stuff is really CPU hog-ish too!  Bigtime!
