Acronis, Inc. is an international computer software company, dealing in the breadth of computer backup, storage management in both Windows and Linux systems. If you make a mistake and delete a file or mess up your entire system, Acronis Nonstop Backup is your savior.

If you actually knew what you were talking about... your advice might be useful.
FYI: You don't want any "non-stop" backup routine running in the background on a DAW!

The weather is nice when it's sunny.
You should enjoy the warm temperature.
If the temperature gets too hot, an air-conditioner is your savior.
Both your car and house probably have air-conditioning units.

+1 for Acronis. I've been using it for years first in Windows XP and now in Windows 7 x64. I'm presently using True Image 2010. I've never had a problem with any version and it's saved me several times. I should add that I don't use the extra bells and whistles like Secure Zone, etc. I use it solely for backing up partitions, and  I always restore from the boot CD, unless I'm restoring individual files.

You can also select files from Online File Folder to restore to your backup server.Acronis Universal Deploy provides a simple way for you to deploy new systems with different hardware or to virtual systems.

Acronis runs like greased lightning compared with paragon. System of Incremental backups seems easier to manage. Individual file restore can be done even from "Image" backups. Backups can be made to networked devices . Paragon *might* have improved since I last tried it -- all I can say that I've been using ACRONIS for at least 5 years now with never a hiccup either. Acronis will even backup and restore LINUX partitions - and the Universal restore feature means you can restore an image to UNLIKE hardware and load drivers -- I use this quite frequently in creating Virtual Machines from an existing windows image. For things like backups its worth paying - even though I like using opensource or free software when I can get hold of it. Just think how much it would cost to replace a music library if you didn't have backup. I'd go for Acronis. It doesn't cost a fortune -- you can get a free trial to see if you like it anyway. I think the FREE version of paragon is quite hobbled compared with a paid for version in any case.

It's all a matter of perspective.  I work in IT, use Acronis at work, but for my home use, Paragon-free fits the bill just dandy.  And I promise you, the vast majority of folks here stopped reading your post right around the time you started mentioning Linux partitions and Virtual Machines.... or at least until they reached your online casino spamming.

I needed to clone an old drive for a friend with an old OS etc via my pc... as he wanted to upgrade his drive to a bigger size... an old version of paragon (on a magazine dvd) was the only thing that did it..

and yep I'm a acronis 2011 true image home owner ... *BUT* I had their part manager in the past and it let me down badly , and couldn't format a drive properly for vista!! (when gparted *FREE* could!!!)  *AND* they didn't seem to want to honour their 30-day money back guarantee.. so I am not their biggest fan and like others they seem rather fond of a yearly upgrade model.

also check online as it was *FAR* cheaper for me to buy a full version ELSEWHERE than directly!!
