hehe  not from the boys   They were seen as a "kids band" , at least among the circle of teenagers I hung around with at the time.
 
I still have my old faded demin jacket covered in sew-on patches,  somewhere it hopefully will never be found....  (no, there was NOT a BCR patch on it)

My patch jacket from that era had things like Winchester, Remington, and Ford on it. (had a stack of junior marksman patches too)
 
We were in to the Beach Boys, Hendrix, Pink Floyd and the Dead. ;-)

I crept into the world when no one was looking a little earlier than 1962.  This is why I could be into metal AND still be a loser.
