when i record my bass thought my Line 6 GX into Music Creator 5 it record just fine and i hear the recording though my headphones pluged in the Line 6 GX. but when i play back the recording, it sounds very distorted through the headphones.
iF i disconect the Line 6 GX and play the recording through my sound card then it sounds just fine, so it record without distortion.
how do i get it to play back thought the Line 6 without sounding distorted. if playing midi it sounds fine only the playback of what i recorded sound distorted.
help!!!!

you shouldn't be using both the LINE 6 and your onboard soundcard or you'll have problems like that.

use only the LINE6 for recording AND playback.

go to OPTIONS>AUDIO and change the playback device to LINE6 headphones

was using just headphones but the playback very distorted. had it set on MC5 for playback on the Line 6 GX.
only switched it back to sound card to see if it recoeded distorted but it recorded great.
all aother playback though the Line 6 if fine, eg:- CDs, DVDs. music on the computer!
sure its something i'm doing as its all new to me.

OK, in that case let's try something and if that doesn't work we'll try something else.

first thing to try is changing your driver mode to ASIO

OPTIONS>AUDIO>DRIVER MODE = ASIO
click APPLY

if that doesn't fix it, we'll need to open the LINE6 software by clicking on the ASIO button at the bottom of that window and then you'll need to find the HARDWARE BUFFERS.  I don't know where to tell you to look for those because I don't own a LINE6 unit, but it will be somewhere in that software that pops up for the lINE6.

once you find the hardware buffers, INCREASE them until you don't have your problem any more.  it may take some trial and error.  increase them a little, check it, if it still does it, increase them some more....
