I'm waiting for chat support session.
 
I can FTP and admin control panel into the hosting service.
 
So it must be a hosting networking problem of some sort.

Update. It's got to a hosting service networking problem.
 
I cannot use my remote access tool (Navicat) to the database from here. But I can access it from the hosting control panel.

Not telling me what the issue was seems unprofessional. 
The issue was probably squirrels.  I hear it happens a lot.

They (meaning almost all hosting companies) never tell.  Seriously.  Even if you press the issue they'll come back with generic answers. It's totally unprofessional, but it's as if we might lose confidence in their service if they tell us Joe Schmoe came to work drunk and started pushing buttons randomly.
