I am going to try the demo when I get home next weekend, but I won't have much time before the introductory discount runs out, so I am wondering if any one has tried this Leslie simulator yet.

I am particularly interested in if it can deliver a better distorted rock sound that I can get using the simulator in NI's Vintage Organs or B4 II. The audio demos left me undecided.

You could also try amplitube3 free and then the open the shop and try out the rotary cab, sounds decent with a good amp.

I think the rotary cab was about 20$ but you can demo it to see if you like it.

Yes I tired it and purchased.
Not sure if it sounds like a real Leslie as I have never tried one of those, but I did like the effects I could get with it - it was something a little different to anything else I had so I thought it was worth the intro price.
In fact I have ended up getting all their effects - Masque and Chorx - Chrox is fabulous and I have used this already quite a lot - Masque is again a different effect for me and I know it will get used, more sparingly than Chorx but still useful. I think LX122 will be the same for me.
Hope this helps
Nigel

Thanks, I have Amplitube 3 and I have tried the used rotary cabs, but I think I prefer the dedicated simulators in B4 II and to a lesser extent Vintage Organs

Thanks. I've never used a real Leslie myself either except a short demo in a music shop years ago when it was completely out of my price range, I would just like to get closer to some of the sounds I hear on record. The premier version looks like it may be useful even if it does not quite "nail" that sound.

I've been on a quest for years looking for that sound with....well, you name it.

I had a 122 and 145 leslie and a couple of hammonds years ago, so I'm familiar with the real deal. I know what you mean with regards to the NI B4 II leslie. The leslie sim itself is ok, but the overdrive is just wrong. VB3 is better for that overdriven sound. Haven't tried the xils labs sim.

My quest is finally over for an authentic ballsy overdriven Hammond sound. I caved in and picked up a Neo Ventilator a couple of months ago along with a mint used Hammond XK-1 for a super $$ I couldn't resist. The Ventilator nails the overdrive. Sounds even better with just a tad of the Hammond overdrive mixed in as well for a little extra hi freq bite. The XK-1 leslie sim on it's own is ok, but the overdrive is pretty hashy sounding and not something I'd want to use on it's own. It's a night and day difference when running it through the Ventilator. Sounds great. I'm finally happy.

If you've ever used a real one you'll always be disappointed with any software emulation. I was not impressed with the LX122 (missing the grit, IMO), but then I've not been impressed by any Leslie sims to date. The one that comes with VB3 is decent, though - too bad it's not sold separately.

Just make sure you get the premium edition if you buy the Xils. Horn/drum balance, inertia and the ability to move the virtual microphones are essential features, IMO.

(missing the grit, IMO), .
Well that fits my observation from listening to the audio demos. Interesting, but not a hen.

I will reserve judgement until I have given the demo version a spin.

I see what you did there.

Here is a third party review.

I have been trying the demo, and the grit is certainly missing, but other than that it has some very nice features, but I am still undecided.
