For me it is undependable.  It's a nightmare under jBridge or Bitbridge.  I really think that some companies are abandoning pro computer apps and focusing on iOS.  It's sad that IK is one of them.  Kontakt as gone through at least 2-3 upgrades since SampleTank 3 was "announced".  They keep saying it's the library.  I guess they're taking a quick and dirty rompler and adding the most advanced sample library any human has ever imagined!  Right.

I run Sonar X2 64bit.  I have not had trouble running SampleTank; however, I rarely use it.  My reason is not crashes, but eyesight.  The GUI is too small to see.  When I need to use it, I invoke the Windows Magnifier; but I this inconvenience is just a deterant and I usually turn to some other synth or sampler.

I was very disappointed to read in another thread on this subforum that SampleTank 3 will not be out until next year.  I plan on just not using the ST2.5 very much until ST3 and 64bit is here.  There are just too many other good and stable and GUI readable alternatives like Kontakt or Alchemy.  As someone on another thread remarked, IKM is falling behind with ST3 delays, and when or if they ever do release it, one wonders if they will have waited too long for some to stay with them.  I do not like to bash IKM, but this prolonged, extended, ongoing, waiting, and waiting for years now for ST3 is a  delay that is absolutely ridiculous and unwarranted.  If other companies went 64 bit, why has it taken so long for IKM to do so unless it is just not a priority for them; they are loosing customers.--There--that's my rant.

Agreed.  Screw the library, just give as a usable GUI that's 64bit!  They choose not to do anything because all of their developers are doing iOS crap.

All my IK stuff has been blown away in favour of 64 bit alternatives from other companies. If they ever release new stuff I'll check it out but the incentive is now very, very, small because I moved on.

MarioD [sab="2522"]FWIW- I am running SampleTron on my 64bit Win7 system both in stand-a-lone and VSTi mode in Sonar X1 Studio with no problems. Note that I am not using a bridge; it runs fine as is. Have you tried it without a bridge?
If you are using a 64 bit DAW it must use a bridging application. Bitbridge is evoked automatically in Sonar and you wont know its there until it crashes. If you are running stand alone or in a 32 bit DAW then you don't need a bridge.   I don't use Sample Tank that much, but I can't say I have had any problems running it in 64 bit Sonar 8.5 using BitBridge. I don't think I have tried it in X2 yet.
Thanx for explaining that to me.  I did not know that!

We've tested SampleTank in Sonar 64 bit and haven't had any issues. Please contact our support for 1 on 1 help. Also Ampeg SVX is now a part of the AmpliTube Custom Shop, which is 64 bit and FREE.
