:-)

I had the impression from previous conversations that you didn't want any of us to push you in the direction of getting the computer fixed or replaced.

I thought we had an understanding.

:-)

Anyways, I'm glad you are sticking with it. I always enjoy listening to your music.

all the best,
mike

You've lost me Mike. There was nothing wrong with my computer until this morning when it wouldn't power up.

Apparently you are one of those that thought my problems with X2a was simply buy a new computer. I guess now
I'll find out how that goes. If the one down is repaired then I'll use it for Vegas Pro 12 as it had no issues doing anything except X2a.

I know little of computer repair but I'm betting it's the power supply.

My wife is glad she called. A month or so ago the PC that I used for internet stuff like this, a 32 bit that I used for recording, gave me trouble
and I unplugged it, pulled out the hard drives and chunked it in the garbage can...when she called the first thing she asked, "where's it at?".
If she would have called 10 minutes later do you know what the answer would have been?

I was lightly saying if I should give up on computer recording and not have anything left that I feel is what we all relate to- then why would I even post? Just how my little brain works.

I'm sure I'm not alone in finding your guitar construction threads very interesting to see, even though I can barely tell one guitar from another and whether you use sonar or not really doesn't bother me at all, so no reason to give up on us at least ;)

Amen to that.

I'll bet you were going to throw that computer where I wanted to throw those dishwashers.

Being 58 and I've realized that with it seemingly to be not many "functioning" years remaining I have become very
quick at not tolerating anything in my life that becomes what I feel is a waste or a constant irritation.

Ya!  Exactly why I've stopped paying taxes.

(Ok, that sounds more rebellious than saying I haven't been making enough money anyway...)

LOL! I ain't lying....I hung up on the guy selling me the new computer. They were trying to hit me @ $180.00 in taxes. He called back...
and they decided it was best to remove the taxes. Yep, that was after I got all the discounts I could.

are over. LOL.
I've been off since last Thursday enjoying building a guitar and a few other projects so decided to spend
my last day off fooling around with trying to record something while my family is traveling back from a convention in Dallas...
but the computer Gods have different plans...I pushed the power button this morning and nothing happened. I do know that
whatever the problem is it's with the computer.

Currently I'm thinking that will be the end of DAW for me. I'll take some time to think about it and see if I really even miss it. At least
I have an image to load if I do buy a new PC.

What really has me wondering about it is that even though I enjoy recording I'm mostly the only one that hears it and the only reason I record
is to enjoy playing my guitar and I can do that without recording. I do like to have drum grooves to jam with- that's how I get song ideas but
having a groove helps me get into really playing, if that makes sense. Sure don't need much for that.

Well if you don't hear from me again at least you'll know that I hung up my recording guns and left wishing you all the best and thanks for a fun
ride.

Sorry to hear about your computer stopped working Michael, but you're not allowed to stop posting here because of that

Hey spacey, why not go back a version say X1 till they get X2 sorted out(when you get your computer fixed), I'm on 8.5 and it works great on my ancient home built PC.

I don't understand why one has to give up something that works once it's upgraded, take note there are still Sonar 5 users proudly chugging along.

I knew there was a very good reason I hang here...great people and that's all it takes.

I understand software issues and have been loyal to Cake for almost two decades. And still.

No matter...when something pushes me to far for to long I get it out of my life. I unfortunately
did not need that computer messing with me this morning. It got lucky.  She wasn't around when the
last one messed with me...I killed that monster good and dead.

CT I hope you understand that I had reached my limit with computers. I can't blame Cakewalk for
the computer not powering up. I can give Cake credit for adding to the list that pushed my button.

If this new one doesn't perform and goes flying out a window at least she'll know I listened to her
and tried it her way.
She's the one that deals with warranties and people that keep these monsters alive...I'm to the point
I'd rather just kill them and put them and me out of misery.

Chuck she'll probably have them fix it and it will be an internet machine. If not...I'll finish the beast off.
