I love my CSR and use them on just about every project.
They are my go-to verbs.
Well worth the $40 IMO.

Custom Shop.... It doesn't bother me.
It's not like it interferes with my PC and it's stability or anything.
It just sits there quietly doing nothing unless I ask it to.

It doesn't run in the background or fire up at start up like Adobe crap does.
It's basically like an app you would have on a smart phone.

No one really cares if I like it or not. If they want an IK product that's the way you get it.
Waves and NI have similar things.
I even have an iLok and that doesn't bother me at all either. I never even know it's there anymore.

Just my useless 2¢ worth.

This.
All of it.
100% agreement

That's good enough for me

I just spent some of that Euros type dosh on the Reverb.

I even paid me some of that Italian VAT

@IK Obi - I realise the CSR I just bought is very good value at the special offer price, but it seems a bit mean to me not to allow us to use our Jam Points towards the cost of purchase. Is this the case for all offers?

That's about the jist of it. You cannot use the jam points on anything that's on a "special promotinal price"..........(sigh...).....I have a lot of jam points just sitting in my account....

The jam points might be useful for all the iAppers, but for the rest of us that don't, it's no point buying software (without any updates for 2+ years) just to use the jam points at full price. (Of course, I did buy almost everything IK offered during their special deals, but that was a few years back).
Interestingly, I've got the best IK pricing deals when going through Esoundz as they offered additional discounts on top of IK's promotions.

Alright peeps, let's get ready for SampleTank 4!!

The difference is simple.

The one I using with the iLok for is worth the trouble to me.

The other one is something I paid $99 for and only used a little bit because it never sounded better than ok.

I'd like to install my CSR license on my new DAW for the convenience of opening old projects... but only if it's convenient.

I'm bemused by the idea that a company would rather devalue their product with sale pricing, to meet a perceived balance of supply/demand, than figure out how to provide a value worth paying for full price for.

best regards,
mike

either way you're being inconvenienced, tho I understand you're saying the iLok one is worth the inconvenience to you.

to me, it's the same, or maybe even less of an inconvenience to use the Custom Shop than it is to use the iLok - for me

And for me too.  An iLok-CS comparo is no comparo at all.  iLok wins hands down for bothersome annoyance.  CS is actually a useful and easy way to demo any new tools/amps/cabs/etc... before you can, if you so wish,  "easily" buy them.  Just my 2cents.  YMMV.

Does anyone know how long it takes before I can download/access my CSR?

It still says "In Progress" in my Account, although they've had my dosh for about three hours now

Thanks for the confirmation Mesh.

I must admit I don't really understand the whole IK set up at all.

Some of the Amplitube items I've bought (extra amp models & cabs etc) are listed in 'my' Custom Shop, and some of the VSTs I've bought (T-Racks, Miroslav etc) are listed in my Account on the website.

And I just noticed that, in addition to my Jam Points, I also have 45 Credits in the Custom Shop. Could I have used these to go toward the purchase of the CSR?

It seems to me that there's only one IK Multimedia, but two different ways to purchase and access stuff.

Or am I missing something

Steve, if I'm not mistaken, I believe that the credits can only be used in the Custom Shop and Jam Points only on their website.

If CSR is available in the Custom Shop (which I doubt), then you might be able to use those credits. (I'm not 100% certain about this though.......).

Thanks again!

It does seem a bit messed up though.

IK's "points" and marketing seem overly complicated to me.

I like how this guy makes it seem simple:

LOL...he nailed  exactly how I look at most everything I purchased for my DAW.
"Software does not age gracefully. It works, and then it doesn’t. The life of software is nasty, brutish and short, and death comes quickly via a hard drive crash, or painfully via the bloat of a Windows registry. When it is gone, nothing useful is left behind, except for a box full of toxic metals."

And the 3d movie of the cave is very cool.
