They did away with the dongle long ago. That SOS review is probably from, what, 2002?

Apparently it's from 2008:

This doesn't make sense though.  I started using IK stuff in 2007 and as far as I knew IK were not using dongles then.

Yeah we haven't used a dongle in ages. We also have AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix for $49.99 / €39.99.

Looks tempting.  Anybody know how they handle different articulations?  Do they use keyswitching?  Or do you have to load each articulation as a separate instrument?

Classik is the light edition, with a smaller 1.5 ish GB library. The full version comes w/ 7GB of samples.

I've just finished installing it (the full version I mean) a few minutes ago and only did a few little test so I didn't really dig deep, but it sure sounds good.

If you're after that type of orchestral sound and can live w/ a 32 bits plug-ins, I'd say jump on it.

I'd spend the extra $10 and get the full version if I were you..

No key switching.

Sorry, no keyswitching, trek. There is, however, a way to implement articulations. The same way they're commonly done in many guitar sample libraries: velocity layers. Add in keyboard splits and this method is actually more versatile than you might think.

This is a great deal on a classic virtual instrument library.
I find myself using it all the time to add extra character to some of my arrangements.

You can get amazing sounds with Miroslav, just searching on YouTube will bring up tons of songs made with it: http://www.youtube.com/wa...eature=player_embedded
