Yesterday I gave my first public recital on solo double-bass at a local church (with piano accompaniment by a fabulous pianist) in just over...

two years!?!?!  Where has the time gone???

Overall it went well, and was very well received. <whew>  It included works by Schumann, Bruch, Ravel, Faure, Dittersdorf, original compositions, and one traditional spiritual.

<memo to self> Do this more often.

But...

Am I in trouble?  Only two of the movements of the various pieces we did were in concert Am.  Is a bass playing in a key (let alone another note) other than Am allowed?

They play other notes?  Are you sure?

I think it's just a psyco-accoustic illusion caused by the piano playing other notes.

Congrats!

My movements are certainly nothing to talk about.

well.  I'm disappointed, Jim.  you should be playing Am all the time if you want to be as "good" as bapu.

congrats!  sounds like a blast!

Funny how one little letter changes everything. I thought 'e said "Rectal Yesterday".

I realized my error when he wrote "<memo to self> Do this more often."

That's OK, I've already implied that my movements stink anyway.
