Great loss. Totally unique sound from a talented musician and, by all accounts, wonderful ol feller. I miss him already.

I remember listening to Radio Luxemborg in bed late at night on a earphone. Riders on the Storm - Jim Morrisons vocals perfectly set off by Ray's electric piano. RIP

Sad indeed. One of the true hippies. Light My Fire is so magical. RIP Ray.

Bummer, the fourth song I ever sang in my life was "Love Her Madly".
 
He and Jim are probably working on some new songwriting as we speak.  Rest In Peace.

Hi,

I wrote a poem with one of their pieces ... and when I get home, if I remember, I'll update this post with it ...

I like Ray and his touch was nice, but for me, it was the VISUAL'NESS that created what the Doors had, and that was all Jim! The "film" maker!

But, it's hard to not appreciate the nice things he did in the pieces as well, though it is a lot easier when you can "see them", instead of just adding a melody or idea behind it all!
