Hey reese/Beagle check the Peavey tablet mount system, comes with adapters for all generations of I pad, has varied mounting systems and is LESS expensive than the I THINGY ($30)
I just got mine in , pretty nifty , I removed my Ipad from the case thought, I think you are looking for a solution with the case?????

I have been curious about soundcard interfaces for iPad - I don't think my MOTU will work with it, there's probably only a few soundcards which will.

Roland has one http://www.roland.co.uk/products/productdetails.aspx?p=1248

I must admit I am a long way from being bitten. I do like my 80GB iPod because I can carry my complete music collection where ever I go. I could not do that with an iPad. And forget about "the cloud" and Spotify etc in some of the places I end up.

I have seen a few cover bands here in Dubai using iPads in place of sheet music / lyric sheets, its looks like a good tool for that application.

It kinda looks like an over priced, and under powered laptop the way you have it set up there.

I'd probably want a real pair of headphones too... so that I could enjoy listening to what ever it is that is coming down the pipe.

I thought the whole idea was that the iPad was portable, slick and capable.... kinda like a laptop.

best regards,
mike

I use it for that!  Our band leader has an ipad, too, and he puts all of the music on a dropbox folder and just tells us which ones to download and use for the week.  pretty cool setup.

We use one as a teleprompter on occasions when the production doesn't have a budget for a full featured teleprompter.

If you have a 2nd iPad you can control it remotely.

Me I like mine. I use the iPhone to capture quick ideas and then move them over to Garageband on the iPad for a demo that I can share with the band. Then move the demo over to Logic and start building the tracks with the band and control Logic using the iPad as a remote DAW control using an App (AC-7 Core HD). Yeah I got bit a while ago.....
