A serious response this time:

Another idea to consider in addition to meat + veggies, might be meat + fruit, especially dried apricots or prunes or possibly raisins.  The fruit adds a sweetness to the meat and the fruit tastes rather meaty.  Quite a bit of Middle Eastern cooking combines fruit and meat (think Tagine type recipes).  Another addition to consider to the above would be slivered almonds.

Cool!  Finally getting some real replies.

I'm wondering about some of my other pan or oven recipes and whether I can convert 'em too.  There's just something about cooking slow for hours that tastes great (even if I'm a "I want it now!" kind of guy).

Just don't try traveling by air with your crockpot.... they are drawing unwanted attention these days at security check points.  Especially if you have packed your alarm clock inside it to save space....

We are going to try this!! Thanks.

We like to buy a roast chicken from the supermarket. Make homemade pico sauce. Homemade guacamole, sour cream, and medium salsa. Put the chicken and other stuff on whole wheat flour tortillas, roll them up and eat! I know it isn't a crockpot meal but it could be if you slow cook your own meat instead of buying it... good and easy!!

You are a cannibal?? ... perhaps if you added "Herbs"

This PC police software is insulting. It seems to me that if anyone actually chose to use racial epithets or profanity in their posts, the community would shun them after giving a thrashing and the abuser would end up banned. Silliness like this seems like something the government would do. Then again, it isn't my forum... I am only a member (can I say member?)

Here's my chili recipe for the crockpot.

In a frying pan, brown up a pound of hamburger, and diced onions, 3-4 stalks of celery diced, and green peppers if your like.

add one or two packages of McCormick's chili seasoning.

1- can of kidney or chili beans

1- large can of diced tomatoes

Jalepeno peppers if you want a little kick to it

add a little sugar if you like your chili sweet.

Put all of the above into a crockpot stir it up well and cook on high for 3-5 hours, stirring once every half hour.
Enjoy !!
