We're just back from our short vacation there  - and all I can say is:

You stay classy San Diego!

What a nice city! And what a great and amazingly diverse country this is.

That being said, it made me realize how I've come to appreciate the dry climate here in Vegas, no matter how much I love the sea. But I can't wait to go back and spend some time in California again.

I was born and raised in San Diego.  Left when I was 24.  Lots of good memories, but I'm still glad I moved.

You left?! But they have koalas at the zoo!!

Only thing negative I can say is - don't ever book a room or a suite at Hard Rock Hotel, at least, not in SD.

We had a suite on the 11th floor. When we walked in and I saw a Fender catalogue on the table, and saw that we could order/borrow guitars and basses, I thought sweeeeet.

Then came Saturday night. Despite what you might expect of a place that's called Hard Rock Hotel, despite all the cool rock and roll memorabilia on the walls, the 2 night clubs in the hotel have nothing to do with rock. Saturday night wasn't all that bad I guess. But when the rave type of music started booming again at 11:30 Sunday morning, I really felt like playing Keith Moon in the hotel room.

Turns out they have those swimming pools party for all the douches and douchettes who want to parade their fake tan, boosted muscles and implants.

I can't imagine what it was like for people on the lower floors. We came back from the Zoo at 4 pm and decided to go out for dinner and stay out until the end of the party at 7pm.

We'll know for the next time.

Heh...  Yep, So. Cal. is full of fake people.  That's one thing I don't miss.

When I was young my parents used to alternate weekends taking me to the zoo, the Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park and Sea World.  Lots of fun.

I used to go to San Diego quite a bit on business (many years ago), and always found it to be a great place, for all the fun places already mentioned (the Old Town area is another one).

Come on over here to the east coast.... we got the most diverse selection of mosquitoes and gnats you could ever want to meet, and the humidity is to die for.

We can drink some home brew on the back deck while swatting the skeeters and shooing the gnats.......

Glad you made it back ok Rain. It's always good to catch up on different areas. I exist within a 50 mile radius and seldom move outside it.
