I have a PowerCore MKII unplugged card laying about, I stopped using it on my xp box a long time ago because it constantly bluescreened that system.

I have a ton of expensive plugs for it, virus multi DSP, VSS3 Stereo Source Reverb ($$$$) and a bunch of other stuff, but is it possible to get it working on a win7 64 system?

It looks like there's drivers and software, I'm just wary of installing it as my current system is pretty stable.

Any experiences?

I'm a powercore user on XP. I understand that they are still updating the drivers and many folks are now getting more stable results bridged with win 7 64 bit and their current 64 bit beta http://www.tcelectronic.com/files/beta/computerrecording/PowerCoreInstaller-x64-4.4.0f33.msi   Big thing with poco drivers is getting all old installations out of it that windows hangs onto even after uninstall. They recommend enabling show non present devices and manually uninstall it from the device mgr. here are the details http://forum.tcelectronic.com/topic/6546/cleanup-windows-powercore-driver-installation/

Thanks, maybe I'll brave an install and see how stable it is.

As I recall, it was the multi DSP Access Virus that caused the bluescreens, and I'm mostly interested in getting some of the FX plugins back, especially the System 6000 VSS3 Source Reverb.

I have a powercore compact and a powercore firewire running on Windows 7, 64 bit, Sonar X1 and X2. The ONLY issues I have had and I think I have sorted them now were about firewire dropouts because of having two firewire devices running on the same port - all plugs / software etc run very sweetly .

Yea, I think you should be OK, I would install the driver first, then the card. I've found that much problems can be avoided if windows never detects it as an unknown I/O device.    Yea, VSS3 is my favorite sounding of all System 6000 verbs. If you haven't checked it out yet, they have 435 more presets for the VSS3, ported directly from the M3000 >here<

Ok, got everything up and running, seem pretty stable but only a couple hours running now, crossing fingers :D

Damn, I totally forgot how sweet the VSS3 reverb is, just sits so well in the mix.

Thank for the presets link, I'll get them installed to.

Cool you had a trouble free install.
If you use Assimilator, >here< is a preset bundle you may like.  The captured single track EQ curves of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

Thanks, I don't have the assimilator as my card is the "unplugged" version that comes very cheap with no plugins and you can then buy just what you need from the plugs that doesn't come with the card like the VSS3, nonlin2 etc..
