  • Ozone: where did the VST plugin go...?

I installed the Ozone demo. It created a folder where I told it too, but that folder only contains a few help files and the uninstaller. The installer didn't ask me where the VSTplugins folder was. But now the plugin is nowhere to be found... I searched all over the computer and the only thing I find are presets... Where did the actual VST go to...??? Don't they WANT me to use the demo or what...?!?

I'm not at my DAW right now, but if you didn't change the default, a lot of VSTs get put into a folder C:\program files\steinberg\vst
or something like that.

Look/search for this file (the VST) --> Izotope Ozone 5.dll

Nowehere... Uninstalled, reinstalled, and now it works... Odd... Thanks for the help anyway! ;) BTW I though this was an unlimited demo for 10 days but it blocks the sound every few seconds...? How annoying...

every "few" seconds ? prolly not.. it has to , think about it.. a song is 3-8 or whatever minutes

like it enough.. buy it.. although wait till xmas , more than likely a sale.

Hi Jeroen

I think you still have something wrong there - I had the demo and it worked fully as described for 10 days - the blocks only came in after the 10 day period. Have you installed it on your system before ? BTW, I really like it - I bought it  after the demo expired and don't regret it at all.

Ozone, good stuff... I'm still on 4, I don't think I'll move to 5. Not that there's anything wrong w/5? But there's nothing wrong w/4 :-)

Bummer... It seems someone indeed fooled around with the demo on my pc... So now I can't try it for myself... Darned. Well, obviously I can hear what it does, but I can't really give it an honest try.

About that xmas sale: what kind of prices are we talking about then? I need to finish a 6 songs EP for someone and he wan't it online around december: I guess that sale will come to late for me.

BTW I like how Ozone sounds, specially the Rock Master Pop preset does wonders to the songs I created. Yes, I need to tone down all the effects etc. a little but still... the songs suddenly sound a lot more equal and full/alive. And the funny thing is that I also suddenly hear little things that should be fixed in the mix: things that didn't become clear without Ozone.

I know a lot of people look down on Ozone and don't like the presets but to me it sounds preffy fine: I sure can't get anything close to what I get with that demo if I only had to use the plugins that come with Sonar... I personally like presets and getting things done easy... Yeah, flame me... ;)

Something to try,  download the free Revo Uninstaller.  Run that and uninstall Ozone as it will also search the registry and remove most of the left over registry files from the program.  It will also search out any leftover folders or files and allow you to remove them.  Restart the PC and install the demo again and see if that gives you another free trial period.

I downloaded demo versions of Ozone 5 and T RacksS 3 and Ozone 5 won for my uses.

Oops, forgot to add the link to the Revo Uninstaller:

Most everyone who tries the Ozone demo ends up buying it. I didn't even wait for the demo to expire.
