Welcome to the Mac side of the force. I think you'll enjoy it. ;)

You should be able to run w7 directly on it via BootCamp, no? 

To be honest, the Bootcamp option was an extra incentive when I switched to Mac. After a bit of time, the last thing I wanted was to even just see Windows running on my machine. OSX won me over in no time.

I've heard of boot camp.  So what's the difference between that and parallels?  I got the impression that parallel will grab everything off a pc, including your programs, and allow you to use it on your mac.  It even makes win programs look like mac ones.

Or is that boot camp?

I'm not familiar w/ Parallels - I was under the impression that it was a sub-environment running under OSX and allowing you to run Windows in that sandbox so to speak. So you're effectively running both OS at once.

Bootcamp is more like dual boot - Windows runs directly on the Mac hardware, just like a PC.
