  I didn't realize it was so spread wide..wide spread either.

I need someone to explain the problem.

 
  I don't  think this problem is very widespread when you consider all of the good honest teachers out there and the very small percentage who are not.

 Nationally we have thousands of teachers and  only a hand full have not been good. The press likes to amplify things sometimes in ways that are
unfair. If I were a teacher I would take some offense to the problem being considered "widespread". 

 Davdud...if you need an explanation you are probably too young for an explanation. 

note to self- There are younger folks here.

Where were these gals when I was a 15 year old??

Maybe I do too. The link is to a story about a teacher who was fired because she modeled in a swimsuit. The rogues gallery of child rapists superimposed on that story was not really related at all. 


When I was in grade school, married women teachers were barred from the classroom if they became "visibly pregnant,"  apparently to avoid exposing impressionable young minds to the horrific possibility that teachers ever had sex. Since both of my parents were teachers, I suppose I was more cognizant to that possibility, but even then it did not make any sense to me. 


It would not bother me at all if a teacher had a side job in modeling. Even video of explicit sexual activity is legal in this country, and I see no reason to bar a teacher from posing so long as she does not do it on the job. If her students are ogling the techer in her other role, it is more of a reflection on their parents control of their viewing habits, and unwillingness to educate them about the scantily clad Aves and Insecta than the fault of the teacher. 

The story I see is about bikini pictures and doesn't mention anything that the thread title suggests. I would imagine that the images running through the mind of any teenage boy she was teaching would be much the same anyway.
 

I blame the Spice Girls. In fact there isn't much I don't blame on them.
