I really like D16's effects when you want soothing different to the usual phaser, chorus or reverb.

They have just put out a pre release announcement of a new synth. http://www.d16.pl/lush-101

My first reaction was "What a SH101 emulation, the must be mad." However it looks like this is much more. The only question bigger than what will be the price is why did they model the GIU on a SH101?

They're billing it as "the only synthesizer you'll ever need".  The demos do sound great. EDM ain't my thing, but some of the demos are reminiscent of Constance Demby, which is more my speed.

Funny thing is that back in the day I had a real SH-101 for awhile,  didn't care for it at all. Some of the demos did remind me of why I got rid of it, while others made me think "my SH-101 never sounded that good."

Funny thing is that back in the day I had a real SH-101 for awhile,

For a while my set up included a SH101, MC202, TR303 Bassline and a TR606. I did over dubs on a Fostex 4 track cassette to build up chords. I dumped it all for Korg Poly 800 a Yamaha DX21 and a Alesis drum machine. The replacments were hardly classic kit but the only regret was not holding on to the TR303 until they became fasionable and worth a forturne.

I digress, but the demos sound a lot better than my SH101 ever did! I think the reason is its 8 basic subtractive synth layered on to of each other with a D16 group effects section.

Lush though , it's a 101 + much more.. deffo tempted , I bought all the d16 stuff in bundles when it was on offer :)

hopefully they will offer a discount to owners of their other stuff..

friend has a real 101, I used a vst one years ago for a few tunes.. I guess it's a bit of a marmite synth.. you love it or hate it :)

This thing sounds pretty awesome, really.  This plug might be uniquely versatile enough to find a wider range of uses and justification for acquisition. It may be worth consideration even to those that don't do EDM. I'd like to hear more samples and see the price first, however, and afterward reviewing the manual, to give it more evaluation.

It was what it was, a low cost, single oscillator, subtractive mono synth, probably the best thing available in its price range when it came out.

That's me. From the demos I think I could find uses for it, but it will depend on the price.

I got a scattergram from them today. They are offering a chance to win copies of LuSH101 if you "like" them on Facebook.

I will have nothing to do with Facebook myself, but if you do its probably worth having a go.

Anything less than $150 and I will be interested.  Anything more than $150 and I will think about it.  Anything more than $200 and I will totally pass on it.

My guess is $149, or $179.  We will see.

Its a killer synth though.  Its, "an acid monster."
