Also, I'm not sure about the term "legacy" (could be that I misinterpret it, which is possible since english is only my second language).

I've always thought that Legacy was used specifically for products that were no longer under development and/or updated/supported - which isn't the case for Waves plug-ins. Pretty much their entire plug-in collection has been updated to Version 9 recently.

Granted they don't add any features to the plug-ins themselves, but they're still darn good.

+1

I was going to post this but didn't....

Question on Waves policy.  I understand that you get one year of free updates with the purchase price and after that you need to pay an annual "tribute" for the privelege.  But suppose you're more than one year out and want to move to a new DAW.  Are you prohibited from authorizing on the new machine without the renewal fee?  If so, that's reason enough not to ever buy a single item from Waves.

Rain is correct...

You just won't get upgrades for FREE if they become available, but your plugs will go right on working...

You can use your Waves plugins on ANY and ALL DAW's that you have installed...no limit...

(That's DAW's on ONE machine..not multiple machines)

But, if you use a USB drive for the licenses you can have multiple machines, but can only use one at a time...

you're right Rain- legacy was the wrong word. I'm like president bush, I mispoke.

I think Waves cloud licensing is really cool but I regret buying "Gold"- it's way overpriced, although there are a couple of nifty things included.
