Hi guys,

lots of times when I stop playback of a song, some MIDI strings keep sounding until I hit the reset MIDI button.
Now, I was trying to find a keyboard shortcut for this button, instead of having to move there all the time with the mouse, but it seems I cannot get this function into the keyboard shortcust list or even to assign it to a MIDI function on my keboard (Motif XS)
Anybody any ideas how to reset MIDI quickly?

Thanx!
Gis

If it can't be bound, try Alt-t (Transport menu), and then e. It's not one keystroke, but I'm sure you could get pretty fast with it.

It would help of Cakewalk had underlined the right letter in "Reset"... alt-t, s will get you the Step Recorder.

Hey Gis - Welcome.

That happens to me too, because the song is being stopped before the synth gets a Note-Off message.

Instead of clicking on the MIDI Reset button, you can click Alt-T-E. The Alt-T part opens the Transport menu, then the "E" invokes the Reset command. I haven't checked about mapping another key command to perform the reset.

EDIT: Looks like brundlefly beat me to it. I was taking a few minutes to research the solution.

You can set your own key binding for it.  It's in the Global Bindings section and is called Transport|Reset.

For more info keybindings, see my web page: http://anythingpeaceful.org/sonar/keybindings
