Hi I am basically wondering if there is a way to drain the frequency of a song/mix down an octave or two within a matter of seconds or even miliseconds.  I am using sonar 8.0, and I noticed that the cakewalk pitch shifter does not have a "W" write option.  Therefore I am out of ideas and don't have the proper hardware to do this properly.  What do you guys think?  Here is an example of the effect at 1:08 in the song Fly by Hilary Duff.

Hmm...that just sounds like the band stopped and the bass did a downward slide.

Yep I agree.... band stopped.... the bass (or other) instrument slid down with reverb and volume envelopes to complete the sound.

Good question, i also wanted to know how, but your example wasn't quite right.
