Probably everybody who cares already knows this.

 
So in an organ patch with a Leslie effect triggered by the modulation wheel I was frustrated by having to play the part with the right hand while turning the Leslie on and off with my left on the mod wheel.
 
Never realized you can just record the part straight, go back hit record again and add the modulation effect as it plays the second time.
 
In case I'm not the last guy on earth to know that.....

Hey Steve... thanks for the share... as a noob to the whole midi keyboard thing within Sonar... what was your setup to do this? I could get the organ part no prob but no modulation... everything looked right but she no worky for me.

Any tips appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Steve, that's great to know. You can also hook up an expression pedal and do it in real time by linking the pedal to the effect.

Well, Mully, I just bought a M Audio Keystation as my poor old Roland U 20 began to act up.
I found out that not all B3 type organ patches actually have that Leslie effect in them, when I go back down I'll look and see which one it is.

Plus an oddity.
It seems that with the Fantom if I don't have the organ in the first or second midi track the Leslie effect doesn't work.
No idea why.


Crg I've never owned an expression pedal (I really ought to get one) but I do use the sustain in organ patches so I don't have to move the hand to the next chord too quickly.

Yes, an expression pedal is very useful and not very expensive either.

The M-Audio EXP is decent one for a low price...
