If I play the part live I either use my ProKeys 88 controller or my Novation Sl.
I have an old Roland Octopad and bass drum pad, plus an Akai MP16 which is arse.

I usually grab a midi file from my library though

I'm looking to get one with drum pads.......I looked into the Akai APC 40, but not sure how well it works with Sonar....
Any others you can think of?

lemme ask you this , so you want keys plus the little drum pads on one controller?

Those little pads arent really meant for drumsticks, I have found, ,So If it was me, I would find just a separate 6-8 pad drum surface that you can hit with real sticks, like THIS    or THIS EVEN THOUGH THE PADS ARE SMALLER
or a used octopad

and  for keys a decent at least 61 key controller keybed.

Thanks MM.......the Akai MPD18 looks to be exactly what I'm looking for (I'll read up on it a bit and see if there's any bad/ugly using Win8). I'm a bit sloppy on my Alesis QS7.1(midi controller) keyboard and wanted just drum pads to use with my fingers. That's pretty good price for that too.
