I didn't intentionally mess this up. I have no idea how I lost the PC4K S-Type Chan Comp.

I went to my Cakewalk Account and that is one of the only ones that doesn't have a download button.

Any ideas? I've looked in the C:\Program Files\Cakewalk folder and I find...
CA2A Leveling Amplifier
PC2A Leveling Amplifier
PC4KGate
ProChannel Concrete Limiter

I looked in the Vstplugins...

Um... What did I do? - I know this is an impossible question. Must be related to me monkeying around with the Blue Cat plugins.

Do you think doing a system restore would bring it back? BTW I always save my plugins, drivers, and Sonar updates on a USB stick just for those instances when I need to reinstall something. I know that doesn't do you any good right now, but maybe something to think about in the future. :) I hope you get your s-comp back!

IIRC, that plug-in was offered for a short time as a promo item bundled with the X1 Production Suite. The link might be under that product name.

The PC plug-ins are in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal" which is silently added to your VST scan path.

I re-scanned folders and I lost the PC4K S-Type Bus Compressor. ?? What a puzzle.

Maybe I'll just wait to re-install after X3 comes out. It's not worth the trouble.

For those of you who have it, what's the file name I'm looking for? I could search my HD and see if I can find it.

The PC4K S-Type Bus Compressor (the one that is included with Producer) is "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\PCS-BusCM.dll" and the PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor (the one that is not included with Producer) is "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\PC4K S-Type Comp\PC4KSChanComp_64.dll"

Scook, you're awesome, you know.

So, I found the Bus one...
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\PCS-BusCM.dll

But I can't find the channel one. How weird this is... I would NEVER have been meandering around these folders.

Just so strange.

It does seem strange that the directory for the PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor would go missing. There would be another directory associated with the installation of the PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\PC4K S-Type Comp" which contains the uninstall information. If that directory is missing too, it might be that it was accidentally uninstalled.

If you bought the PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor, the line item in your store account would show "ProChannel Module - PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor" with a download link. If you have that item in your store account without a download link, it was bundled as a promo and the download link will be under another link for a bundle like the "First-Class upgrade to Production Suite." The compressor was not part of the Production Suite but was occasionally included as a promo item.

It was there a month ago when I started mixing this show b/c I was using it. Oh-S!! I didn't have this PC a month ago when I started mixing it. I got a new PC!... I must have failed to install it. I didn't install X1 on this new PC. I'll bet that's the whole problem.

Sorry for being such a space case. You'd think I could remember something like a new PC. :-)

It looks like I installed Dim Pro and Beatscape from X1 but that I didn't realize that this was an X1 item.

So... re-download X1 to install it?

I found...
v 1.0.1 installer - ProChannel - PC4K Compressor
and when I click download I get...
<Code>AccessDenied</Code><Message>Request has expired</Message>

I'm starting to think this deserves a call to customer support.

Sounds like a plan. I get the same error trying to d/l the installer.
