Like most users, I want them to be very successful.
While I can't give exact figures, Cakewalk is doing fine. The company is acutely aware that the loyal user base is a major factor in making this possible. Of course another factor is rolling out a superb release like X3, as we're picking up new users and getting some existing users of other DAWs to switch.
Cakewalk's staff is
highly dedicated and very bright. They would
love to be able to do everything they want to do as well as fulfill all the needs of the user base. Obviously this is impossible, but that doesn't keep them from trying. The main advantage of becoming more successful would be the ability to accelerate progress by hiring more people (although it's not easy to find people of the caliber of existing Cakewalk employees).
The bottom line is that we were very happy when we acquired Cakewalk but if we'd known how it was going to play out over the past several months, we would have been even happier

Most importantly, I truly believe the best is yet to come, and I don't just mean in terms of subsequent updates but what this company will be doing 5 and 10 years from now. Cakewalk's time has come...stay tuned.
