Does Sonar work on other planets?  Just trying to plan.

It works on Mars...not sure about the other planets. However, download before leaving earth...the internet goes out just about every time there's a dust storm.

I want a CW, all products, download manager that connects to my store account, included with every CW product.

Listing what, installed on a computer, has been purchased, when, price, downloaded, serial numbers, and status (eg: registered).

The original downloaded files to be saved in a folder on the root OS "disk." NOT IN A BURIED HIDDEN FOLDER!!!!

I agree about the use of smaller, categorically grouped, files.
Core program, direct x, vst, vsti, samples, tutorials, sample projects, other, extras.
Maybe some as smaller groups: Sonitus, Channel Strips, 3rd party instruments, 3rd party effects,... individual effects, pro-channel modules,... Included with version, purchased separately.

I have 2 codes for Dimension pro, Rapture, Zeta. Would be nice to quickly know which is installed on a particular computer.

I think they are going to add the ability to use Sonar to help you find fish and if your luck enough to own one, you should be able to steer your sub through some very murky water.

This is great feedback - thanks a ton.

One question RE: downloaded files - is it important that you're able to specify where to download the files? (I would think so but just confirming).

Also do you envision an option to delete the download files after installation automatically or should that be left up to you/the user to decide when and if to delete the downloaded files? I could see the benefits of not deleting so if you needed to re-install but it should also be easy to reclaim hd space.

Oh goodness... please don't emulate NI or XLN for their DL/Authorization models. They are good companies but that crap is annoying. I like the current Sonar download method. If anything just make it so the core program is one download package then have the other goodies in their own bundles. No weird clients or specialized download programs. I had a heck of a time getting Addictive Drums installed because a) I do not use IE and b) I keep all my Windows security settings maxed out wherever possible.

I had to contact XLN and disable a ton of stuff to get it to work. NI was a little less problematic but still extremely annoying.

I would hope the ability to keep a local copy of the installers will always an option.

Totally agree. NI has always been a PITA for me and XLN's policy of online authorisation only in future has only served to ensure that I won't be buying anything new from them.

Yes. Definitely. I am currently online, have been for quite a few years now and hope to continue to be but I spent a large part of my life without an internet connection due to finances and really having better things to do. If I end up in a situation where I am not able to connect but need to install my bought and paid for software for whatever reason I will not be amused. That would be like having to pay a monthly bill just in case I need to change the strings on my guitar. It ain't right.

Thanks for the responses it's interesting to hear everybody's perspectives/thoughts/feelings. To be clear I'm not talking about authorization, just downloading and delivery.
