I was looking for a one stop display that compared the standardized wiring connections, or pinouts, of the common audio power output vacuum tubes but I found myself paging back and forth between data sheets.

I drew this diagram, this morning, so that it might seem easier to compare the standard pinouts.

Brings back the days when I actually fitzed with tube circuits. Still wish I had the 5 watt audio amp I built in college.

You are welcome Tom,

FWIW, I just made a slight but important revision to the EL34.

If anyone happens to download or save a copy of the jpeg for reference you can check the drawing revision number in the bottom right hand corner to make sure you have a copy that has the latest edits.

Wow! I wish I could create diagrams like that. What software did you use?

Hi John,
Thanks for the kind sentiments. I like to do my schematics in Illustrator and base my work habits on the experience of working through high school after hours and summers as a design/draughtsman, in a small town engineering firm, during the hey day of pen and ink on mylar.

CAD was just arriving when I was gravitating to other interests. I never learned to drive a CAD system very well.

I tend to think of the work as illustration and I try to use line weight, font selection, and layout to make a technical drawings comfortable to view as easy to interpret.

The nice part about Illustrator is it gives you complete freedom to draw, and I have been assembling a personalized library of my own symbol designs etc. over the years.

Note: If anyone notices anything that requires an edit, please suggest it and I will update the drawing.
