I have this problem too. Question... is this forum the official way to report a problem? If not, what is the official way to send problems to the Bakers?

There's also a Problem Report forum that you can use to run a potential problem by other users to get confirmation before submitting a formal report. Preferably, you should have a recipe that others can follow to reproduce the issue.

This is the "official" way to report problems. It's best to check here first though to prevent duplicate reports from plugging up the triage process.

Control Bar resetting confirmed here too... It's minor, but across two screens becomes rather annoying.

Me too. And very annoying! Therefore, I am still in the X3.
