Actually... now that I think about it, if everything else is clean, could this be a stereo interleave issue? Is the input track set to mono or stereo?
I've had to screw with such things quite a bit when playing with my voiceover experiments. Had to hunt down any points where things were getting converted from mono to stereo and back again. Of course a mono input should remain mono until it hits an output bus (or a sub buss... but even then mono keeps it centered).
Sorry... that IS likely a little more nonsensical. Just something I ran into with Voicemeeter and voiceover shenanigans.
Glad you're getting what you want though. That's all that matters.
