urock, that's a MacBook Pro any way you size it up. It's the exact profile of the MBP I am typing this on.

So that's 10 hours from now I guess 17:00 UK time.

Gee- 'the you spoke we listened' in conjunction with that laptop makes me think that indeed they are going to put out something for crapple. Hmmm... well I suppose they know what they're doing but I wouldn't be thrilled if this was the case.

The updates for infinity is pretty massive. Maybe to generate new revenue they will have some cool ARA modules-- a mastering suite and a sibelius type notation editor that can be purchased separately. The way they have coaxed Melodyne to work within Sonar using ARA is super cool.

I think Boston is CET - meaning 9 hours after us in europe.

EDIT: meant to write CST, but that was wrong too. So NY time it is....

Got a JRR mail of their June deals. One of them is:
"Buy or Upgrade to SONAR Platinum and get free lifetime updates. Only for a limited time, automatic extra discounts in cart."
Currently the link in their mail only seems to show the regular Sonar offerings, and also no extra discount, but I guess that will be available soon. Would be great if I could renew in USD again instead of EUR, let alone with an extra discount.

EDIT: hmm, apparently the discount is only when upgrading or buying it for new, not for the renewal. If the upgrade/buy automatically gives you lifetime, then this is kinda awkward. Upgrade from any Sonar Producer to Sonar Platinum is discounted to $169 from $199 (in fact that's the offer I jumped on back in December), while lifetime offer via Cakewalk would be $199 (actually closer to $250 due to price in EUR + 21% VAT).

I miss Mike. He said a lot of things I agreed with, and some I didn't. It's always good to have differing viewpoints.

Me too. Mike was stubborn, frequently infuriating, but also intelligent and articulate and passionate, even if he was just playing devil's advocate. It was interesting to have someone like that to butt heads with. Where did he go?

For a second, when I opened this thread, I thought that Cake had done the big reveal and
 this was real.  Aaaggh!

Actually, the computer in the Cake tease looks more like an HP model or the Surface Book.

In any case, if it is a noon reveal then 11 hours to go.  Somebody should set a new countdown timer.

It's not real . This is only a little thing I did to kill a some time

Those of us currently running a boot camp Mac would love a native version. Me personally, I've had cakewalk since the twelve tone days :).
