Lastly, does the future-proof purchase (lifetime updates) cover switching to Mac?

Beat me to it.

LOL, 3rd announcement is just a link to the rolling updates page.

what a waste of time refreshing the website just for that.

No - Ripple editing, revamped comp etc.

EDIT. Sorry - yes:) Pretty cool updates though!

Same here.  The main reason I was ever on Windows was Sonar.  Totally nothing wrong with Windows, but I do other stuff on the OSX platform.

For me the most exciting announcement is Take Management & Comping Enhancements. This is something we've needed since comping came to Sonar.

Kind of disappointed MIDI editing isn't listed. They really need to rebuild that from the ground up.

Maybe the link wasn't correct, I checked and it's not going to the Rolling Updates page. But the details in the Rolling Updates page are pretty interesting.

When you buy a product, you want it to exceed your expectations. That’s why we’re committed to making SONAR awesome -- and not just by our standards. We’ll start by addressing some of the more commonly-reported issues users are facing. In 2016, we’ll introduce a new, highly requested “ripple editing” function to improve the editing workflow in SONAR. We’ll also streamline the code for better plug-in load balancing, providing optimal performance in large projects containing many plug-ins, and we’ll revamp the comping feature so take management is more user-friendly.
And with SONAR Analytics now at our disposal, and a responsive feedback portal on its way, we’ll be monitoring your comments, feedback, and requests closely so we can respond quickly and ensure that your experience with SONAR is… awesome.

Ok. Just checked my price: 237 euros (from Sonar X3 Producer). Way too much for my current budget.
