Andrew Rossa [Cakewalk]

You should be all set. You are having a similar issue to some other folks here. We'll be able to fix that in the morning. It's because you technically didn't buy a renewal but another upgrade (before we announce renewals).

Ah - I see. Thanks Andrew. I will check it out tomorrow.

We should all pitch in and buy Mr. Andrew "I drew the short straw on e-mail duty" Rossa a beer or three!  Thanks for all your efforts Andrew.  This is why Cakewalk has such loyal customers.

That is so very true. I'm not sure if Andrew was just on call tonight or what, but I genuinely appreciate it. Strong work, and many thanks.

Andrew:  Could you also check and see why I'm not getting emails.  I'm sure I used to.  Signed up again via the link, but still no joy.

Thanks!

I did not officially renew in 2016, but only because it seemed I didn't need to. I have been making monthly payments since this program began in January 2015, so it's been sixteen months (and sixteen payments) so far not counting May. Do I need to do anything further until June? My price for free lifetime updates came up as $199 via the link posted. I did not receive any email other than the last one, which talked about upgrading AAS instruments (all of which I already have anyway).

Maybe Cakewalk have listened to the people who only want bug fixes and improvements.

Perhaps the lifetime offer will give you those, but any new features (like vocal sync, drum replacer or aux tracks were) or add ons (Melodyne etc.) will be charged.

Just a thought.

On the page for the lifetime update, it says at the top:

Lifetime Updates included
When you upgrade to this version of SONAR Platinum, you will receive every new core feature, enhancement, and even fixes for all future versions of SONAR.

________________

I would consider things like vocal sync, drum replacer, and aux tracks to fall under "core features". I don't think Cakewalk would try to pull a fast one on us like that. I imagine that it includes the same updates as the current membership.

This isn't based on info from Cakewalk, but personally, I see it more like jb101. I'd consider Aux Tracks to fall under core features, but not something like Drum Replacer or Vocal Sync. Look at how FL Studio does their updates for life - core program gets updated, but add-ons like plug-ins are optional at extra cost.

If that's what Cakewalk is going to do, that makes a lot of sense. Then no one can complain about paying for something they don't need, and the people who need something can pay for it. It seems Cakewalk is really moving more in the "it's your choice" direction. This also neatly solves the problem of "what if a bug is fixed after I don't renew?"

No e mail received about the upgrade - did get one however re the AAS offer.

Current store lifetime upgrade states 225.78 Euros, is that correct - exchange rates dollar/euro are normally the other way round, or are we talking VAT here ?

Cheers,
Jerry

I can vouch that Andrew is one of those rare people who actually takes responsibility to get things right. If everyone had his work ethic, this would be a very different society

Now, Andrew - GET  SOME SLEEP!!

I'm in...

At the moment, in "About Sonar..." dialogue box, it reads, "Valid through 14/08/2017 - Status: Owned."

Will that eventually tell me that I'm a lifetime subscriber?

cheers
