Current store lifetime upgrade states 225.78 Euros, is that correct - exchange rates dollar/euro are normally the other way round, or are we talking VAT here ?

I think it's VAT. My price is €188.15 + 21% VAT. It very much looks like yours is the same price + 20% VAT. That €188.15 seems in line with $199.99.

EDIT: am also wondering what the business rationale is. Regular SPlat yearly subscription is apparently $149.99 so lifetime is hardly more expensive.

Opted in, but I have rather bad feeling about what CW is going to deliver. This year we have got so far:
* drop of phone support (since CW is reading this thread... do you know that it is not possible to schedule call back, right? )
* SONAR self de-authorizing
* bad written 2 master plug-ins
* redundant button to add tracks
* simplified way to submit material to one online mastering service
I know that many users are excited by this list, I am not

Whoah.. I was still browsing through that link you sent and ended up paying for it. Not entirely unhappy, but give a little "Are You Sure"? option maybe?

Doesn't it just work like any other webshop ? When you click buy, it's added to your Shopping Cart. You then still need to go Checkout before you actually are buying it. So I don't see how you can accidentally buy it.

The devil is in the detail and what constitutes the core features. I suspect one will still have to pay for additional "non core" features (third party applications, VSTis, Pro Channel modules etc.) making the choice far from straightforward, I am sitting tight until June 1st.

Correct. Personally I always liked that I got several 'freebies' in the past like VSTs and stuff, although you can indeed argue that in the end you were just paying for those. Given that change to a bare bones Sonar, it would be highly likely that after this one-time lifetime offer, they will significantly lower the regular monthly/yearly subscriptions as well, at which time the lifetime offer would become a bit less spectacular.
PS: we can actually sit tight until end of August, since that is when the offer expires.

I received my email and following the link says lifetime membership will cost £420 GBP.
Is this correct?

I think yours should probably be the same as mine, £88.44 incl VAT, with the £420 crossed out.

Yep... That's what I paid

Thanks lads. Showing £88.44 now.

Hmm. For me it shows as £148. Is this because I pay monthly, rather than annually? I have an unbroken membership from Jan 2015.

Hi Cakewalk

I also never get emails (about this or anything else)...I did notice I wasn't signed up for the newsletter, which probably explains it....but could I please be "email activated" or whatever you call it?  :-)

Thanks
