Current store lifetime upgrade states 225.78 Euros, is that correct - exchange rates dollar/euro are normally the other way round, or are we talking VAT here ?

I think it's VAT. My price is €188.15 + 21% VAT. It very much looks like yours is the same price + 20% VAT. That €188.15 seems in line with $199.99.

EDIT: am also wondering what the business rationale is. Regular SPlat yearly subscription is apparently $149.99 so lifetime is hardly more expensive.

We'll have more info on pricing. But yes, the value for people who have not RENEWED this year will also be good.

Hmm. For me it shows as £148. Is this because I pay monthly, rather than annually? I have an unbroken membership from Jan 2015.

On June 1st, if it makes sense for you, you should be able to upgrade for a reasonable price. Might be worth considering moving to the one-time payment if you can.

Could anybody concisely explain what is meant by the Platinum "pay one time" offer?  Pay one time for what exactly?

Also any idea how much it would cost for a current yearly Platinum subscriber?  The offers page say to log in to get the upgrade price, but the log in page says I'm already logged in......

Hi Cakewalk

I also never get emails (about this or anything else)...I did notice I wasn't signed up for the newsletter, which probably explains it....but could I please be "email activated" or whatever you call it?  :-)

Thanks

I activated you and sent a PM.

I am listed as subscribed to newsletters but didn't receive this email either. I tried the pay once option in the store and got £99 plus VAT which is different again to what some of you seem to have. I also have been using SPlat since Jan 2015

All set with emails.

They were never free, you paid for them through the membership. I suspect the difference is that in the future, you can choose whether you want to pay for them or not.

I cannot imagine they would go for a model where you could chose between:
* A lifetime subscription, but without any goodies.
* The existing monthly/yearly subscription model, but with the extras.
That would be very confusing. Plus, then subscribing to the current lifetime subscription you would have to be very aware about the consequence. I have not seen the full mail (on p.3 it appears to only be an excerpt) so I'm not sure whether they really clearly point out that going for the lifetime subscription removes stuff that you would still have with the regular subscription model.
I would just think that they go for the core functionality only regardless of lifetime vs monthly, but that they therefore would significantly lower the monthly subscription price.

i didn't get the memo either. which is strange because this last year for the first time ever I have actually been receiving Cakewalk emails. Following the link on p3 of this thread my price appears to be 199USDollars. Is this standard or are some people actually getting it for $99?

All set with email.
