Could anybody concisely explain what is meant by the Platinum "pay one time" offer? Pay one time for what exactly?
Also any idea how much it would cost for a current yearly Platinum subscriber? The offers page say to log in to get the upgrade price, but the log in page says I'm already logged in......
If you're logged in, just go to the URL that is mentioned in the quoted e-mail on page 3, and you will see how much discount you get for Lifetime compared to the normal $499 (or whatever it normally is).
The current "pay one time" is rather confusing and is basically the difference between paying monthly and paying once for 12 months. The 12 months is important because you have to have a membership for 12 months to be able to keep using the product after you stopped your membership. See:
http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/Versions#start . E.g. suppose you're new to Sonar and pay $49 for 2 months. If you then stop paying, you can't use your Sonar Platinum anymore. If you pay $49 for 12 months, you will be able to continue using the last month's version even if you stopped paying. The latter can be cheaper by choosing upfront to pay $499 instead of 12x$49 which they call 'pay one time'.
