1. Logic - a full DAW that I think most would put on the Platinum scale in terms of the package = $200
2. Fruity Loops = lifetime updates for FREE
3. a bit surprised by those happy to shell out so much money with so little detail
1. But the Mac hardware cost more than makes it a bigger investment for the first time DAW user
2. I believe that this is what the SPlat users (only) offer is. That is confirmed in my offer email.
3. If you are in the right category (upgraded to Plat in 2015 and upgraded/renewed to Plat in 2016) you should eventually get the offer email for $99. That, IMO is not "so much money for so little detail" since the offer email spelled out the details.
3) Plat is about $500 to start (i.e you bought one of the top of the line previous Sonar versions in that price range)
+ $150 upgrade to Plat + $100 renewal $100 lfetime
Thats $850 if you bought X3 Producer about 2 years ago. That is quite expensive, IMO. Seriously something to think about.
And the details are still unclear to a degree. What are "core features?" I have a feeling quite a few will disagree over what features are core.
$99 for any owner of Plat might not be a horrific upgrade to a lifetime update program, but Fruity Loops seems to offer a similar model for free. (and only $39) if you have an ancient version and want to upgrade to the lifetime update model.
