To the bakers:
I hope that with your new sale model you will still offer the current options to buy/update Sonar Platinum outright with all "core" updates AND with non-core products such as Addictive Drums 2, Rapture, Z3ta+, Dimension Pro, etc. I know I'm probably not a typical user of Sonar since I use many other DAWS (Reaper, Cubase, StudioOne, Tracktion, etc) but one of the main reason I bought Sonar (X3 Studio, then Producer and then Platinum) was because many of its instruments/FXs are also available in other DAWS. i.e. AD2 is the full version and can be used in any DAW. For me, this made Sonar VERY attractive to acquire. For example, when I bought the X3 Studio upgrade to Producer, it was just a bit more expensive than buying AD separately, so it was a no-brainer. Same with the upgrade to Platinum (AD2 with 3 packs included). Had Sonar "x" just included the "core features" I probably never would have bought it. I just LOVE the fact that, for example, I can use TTS-1, biFilter2, PX-64, etc, in my other DAWs
Of course I understand that because of license fees, you possibly can't do this for all the "non-in-house"/non-core instruments/FXs you include (i.e. the TH3 version you include only works in Sonar). But even in those cases, you often offer substantial discounts to Sonar Platinum users to buy the full "multi-daw-compatible" version. All these factors make buying Sonar a really good investment. Actually I think that from the onset, CakeWalk missed an opportunity with their promotion of Sonar. They should have put more emphasis on the fact that so many of their plugins also works in other DAWs. This "value plus" characteristic is almost exclusive to Sonar. Very few other DAWs allows their plugins to be used in other DAWs. IMO, it's a very powerful advantage that Sonar has over competing DAWs.
Lets compare this for example with StudioOne Pro3: It also comes with many "in-house" instruments/FXs but they are ALL exclusive to SOP3 and this makes me want to avoid them as much as possible since it then forces me to use SOP3 from beginning to end (projects done in SOP3 becomes almost impossible to "migrate" to other DAWs) I know it's probably exactly why Presonus does this, they want you to be captive to their "eco-system" but in the end it just turns people off. Pro-tools also suffer from this "ego-system" mania. (see what I did?

)
BTW, I understand that in an ideal "CakeWalk world", people would only use Sonar as their DAW, but in today's fast evolving musical business, maximum flexibility/adaptability is a plus, not a hindrance. (again check Avid/Pro-tools market share if you don't believe me)
Anyway, I just wanted you to know that even within the current sale model (core features + non-core features, with some of them available in other DAWs) Sonar was/is a very good deal. So I don't mind if you find more ways for people to buy Sonar, but please don't exclude the current options. More choice is good

Thanks.
